It's been a while between posts ~ lots happening & unfortunately that "lots" doesn't include the word sewing in it anywhere :(
I did get a lovely package in the mail the week before last, a lovely bundle of about 8 metres of gorgeous fabric from The Humming Mini :)
All bundled together & tied up with a bit of cute fabric...
That was quickly snaggled away by my gorgeous little girl :)

What can I say - she's gonna love fabric this one!!!
Apart from my fabric buying, I have only made it to the sewing room to try to organise the mess it has become only to turn around & find my very own little cyclone, pulling stuff out faster than I could put it away :o
So last week after umming & aahhing & tossing up what I wanted to start on next & pulling out more books (like the room needed that) I finally decided to make a bag from the new orange & pink retro look fabric I got from the above order. I am really going SLOWLY on it and so far am enjoying making it. It's a mix in size between my very special BeckyBean bag (that I still use every day) & the purple op shop bag I made a few weeks back - which I do like, but find is a little too big... mind you the purple one is PERFECT for grocery shopping as it fits a nappy change, food, toys and all mummies stuff with room to spare! This one is slightly smaller but nicer fabric choice & colour - feels good to experiment with sizes - next one I do might go down one more size & use the good mushroom canvas fabric I bought at Spotlight :)
I have TONNES on my to do list. I have a few birthday's fast approaching & would like to make some very special people in my life some small things to go with their store bought gifts - in other words, I'm trying to cut down on store bought & add a more personal touch to my gifts! So this weeks plan is to get started on these PLUS I want to do a crayon roll for Miss K and a nappy change mat / tote and also want to attempt some shopping totes with fold away pockets as added little christmas gifts - this is one busy girl!
On the home front, I still haven't tested my face cream yet... I promise to give her a test run tonight. Have also purchased a few other ingredients to try some of the other creams too. AND my endeavour to become domestic goddess in THIS century is on the up & up with a recent purchase of an August organiser from the Skipper the Domestic Guru - I honestly thought Big J would laugh his head off at me when I spent the $5 on the 33 page planner, but he supports me totally and I guess when the house is starting to resemble a livable habitat and I am actually organising dinner while it's still only 5pm - he thought all his christmases had come at once. So today was day one & I'm proud to say I got thru heaps of stuff on the list - the house is cleaner, hubby is happy, daughter is in bed and I have even managed to get some ME time into the equation... heck my handles are about ready to sew on the new bag and my knitting is now a row or two healthier.
I'll stop waffling on now & let you get some sleep, hope to be back tomorrow with some progress pics of some stuff I've been working on :)

I have been thinking about getting the Domestic Guru organiser, might just have to bite the bullet and get it.
Good to hear you had a good day!
