Picasso Headquarters

While my very own little picasso went crazy with her paints earlier today...

Mummy took the opportunity to do some more wrecking... journal style :)

The initial plan was to fill water balloons with paint and pop them with darts (as seen in one of the scenes of The Princess Diaries)

No darts.

Oh well, I decided to try using a skewer from the kitchen instead, but as I had nowhere safe to throw it from I just started by jabbing the balloons. They wouldn't burst ~ grrrr!!!

So I grabbed some rocks from the garden and with my toe holding the book opened in a precarious position (trust me when I say my aim at any throwing type sports is none to straight and rather deadly... I know of only one speed - fast!!!) I started pegging them at the book and aiming for the balloons. Some hit, some didn't. Miraculously my toe went uninjured!!! What Fun!

Even the toddler came wandering over to have a look and thought it was quite a sight to see mummy throwing rocks, something I tell her every day not to do... (whoops)

And of course the dog had to come have a sniff.

I probably could have done more balloons and I really, really need to loosen up even more... but gosh this was a fun project! Try it - I know you wanna!!!

I did this with my kindy class many years ago. We filled ballons with paint and threw them at a canvas that we had previously pushed thumb tacks through and taped to the back. Everyone had a ball - even my cook came out and lets just say that I am sure that 4 years on her coat is not white.
