The crafty endeavours have been put on hold for the last week while I struggled to keep a fine balance between a short week at work, organising a 3rd birthday and the general stuff daily life throws at you! I think I managed to juggle it all quite well but before the madness of the week began, I spent some time getting to know my BSR foot. To be totally honest – this foot has both excited me and scare the heck out of me… it goes by itself (by sensing when the fabric is moved beneath it) so you are soley controlling your quilting by your hands only. The speed is controlled with how fast you move your hands. The foot pedal is not an equation in this Free Motion Quilting, which after working so hard to learn to use the foot and the hands and make one fast, one slow – it is rather difficult for me to get the hang of this new fangled foot.
So I took the Eye Spy Quilt I pieced years ago and finally basted it last weekend and took to it with the BSR…
the stitches are a wee bit irregular, but after seeing it sitting draped over my sewing chair for the week – it has really grown on me!
Once I decide whether I need to do any quilting on the borders or leave it as is, this little baby will be ready to bind!
Now that the craziness of last week has passed, I’m hanging to get started on the other 3 tops ready to be basted!!!

You are a quilter! Just today I was thinking to myself that I wanted to make a quilt, but wasn't sure where to start. Having a sewing machine would be a good start for sure! ha ha ha. I think I'm getting my mom's singer in August. (crossing fingers) ;) Thanks for stopping by!
Terrific. I did my first machine quilting the other day but it is no where near as impressive as yours. I love fine all over quilting but havien't got your patience. the stitch sizing is probably not really important and may even improve with practise. Cherrie
Great job Car! It sounds like that foot is a nifty little device (once you get the hang of it!)
The quilting looks fantastic and you should be proud of yourself! Remember the day you started to quilt..is this the same girl??? You are doing a terrific job.
